The virtue of saying: Subhaan-Allaahi wa bihamdihi, & Subhan-Allaahil-Azeem

Assalamualaikum Wr. Wb. Brothers and Sisters

Dhikr meaning “Remembrance” is the devotional act in Islam in which short Duas and prayers are recited repeatedly to remember Allah (SWT). Dhikr is a very powerful and simple way to worship Allah (SWT) when we have a lack of time, which carries many benefits and virtues. Allah Almighty says in the Holy Quran: “O you who believe! Remember Allah with much remembrance” (Quran 33:41).

Many of us search for the ways that we can use to earn the rewards from Almighty Allah. We fast in the month of Ramadan with sincerity, we offer our daily prayers, give charity and always try to become a better person than before.

Here is a simple phrase to earn huge rewards for the pleasure of Allah. Try to recite “Subhan Allah Wa Bihamdihi, Subhan Allahhil Azeem” as much as you can.

Of course, this does not mean that you should leave obligatory acts of worship and stick to just saying Subhan Allah Wa Bihamdihi, Subhan Allahhil Azeem (or other dhikr). Farz is the mandatory act to be performed and it is not at all allowed to be skipped in any condition.

سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ، سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ العَظِيم

Transliteration: Subhanallahi Wa Bihamdihi, Subhanallahil Azeem
Translation: Glory be to Allah and all praise is due to him, glory be to Allah the great

سبحان الله و بحمده – Subhaan-Allahi wa bihamdihi [Allaah is free from imperfection and all praise is due to Him]
سبحان الله العظيم – Subhaan-Allahil-Azhim [Allaah is free from imperfection, The Greatest]

REFERENCE FROM HADEES:
👉Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “There are two statements that are light for the tongue to remember, heavy in the Scales and are dear to the Merciful: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi, Subhan-Allahil-Azhim' [Glory be to Allah and His is the praise, (and) Allah, the Greatest is free from imperfection)’.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

👉And he who utters: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi (Allah is free from imperfection and His is the praise)’ one hundred times a day, his sins will be obliterated even if they are equal to the extent of the foam of the ocean.” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

👉Abu Dharr (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to me, “Shall I tell you the expression that is most loved by Allah?” It is `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi’ (Allah is free from imperfection and His is the praise)’.[Sahih Al-Muslim].

👉Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (PBUH) said, “For him who says: `Subhan-Allahi wa bi hamdihi (Allah is free from imperfection, and I begin with praising Him, and to Him),’ a palm-tree will be planted in Jannah.” [At-Tirmidhi].

👉Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, “He who recites in the morning and in the evening the statement: `Subhan-Allahi wa bihamdihi (Allah is free from imperfection and I begin with praising Him)’ one hundred times, will not be surpassed on the Day of Resurrection by anyone with better deeds than one who utters the same words or utters more of these words.” [Al-Muslim].
